Thyme in the Country is an 1880s farmhouse located on 5 pastoral acres in the heart of Upstate New York’s Columbia County.  We feel very fortunate and proud to be part of a community with so much to offer visitors looking for an authentic and meaningful getaway.

Surrounded by scenic beauty and agricultural farmland, we strive to reflect this heritage in the accommodations at our country inn. Helping you put together a vacation experience interwoven with our local culture is what we enjoy the most.

From skating in the moonlight over a frozen pond, to jumping from a swing into a pile of fall leaves, we try our best to have our guests relax and enjoy the peace of country living at its simple best.  We are committed to healthy and sustainable living; “green” principles are incorporated into every aspect of what we do, from the food we serve to the electricity we use.  We live and promote environmentalism, and pass the benefits on to our guests.

The eggs we serve at breakfast are often only minutes old. So are the asparagus, the herbs in your omelet, and the strawberries in your freshly made yogurt. Experience the peace and comfort of our 1880′s country farm house situated on a five-acre working farm here in the Hudson Valley. See firsthand how the sustainable and green principles incorporated into our lifestyle become benefits passed on to our visitors.

Our elegant yet simple breakfasts feature produce harvested from our farm. Dutch Belted cows provide the milk that makes the very delicious yogurt and ice cream. Our flock of free-range chickens provide the fresh eggs. Pigs, raised on left-over milk and whey and kitchen scraps, provide our bacon and sausage.

The heart of our property is our beautiful one-acre organic garden overflowing with an abundance of fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs that are used in all meals served in the B&B. Our farming is done without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

We serve vegetarian, non-vegetarian and gluten-free selections, freshly baked breads and side dishes, fresh vegetables, fruits and juices, along with fair trade coffees and teas.
