“Thyme in the Country is not just a lovely place, it’s an experience of a way of life and style of hospitality that is warm, wholesome, visionary, and utterly heart-felt. The experience is so much more than the sum of its parts (the home-made soap, beeswax candles, hours-fresh eggs, lovingly hand-built cabinets, the gorgeous cows grazing around solar panels) — it exudes optimism and a lively, reverent approach to life. But it’s not fussy or pristine, or over-zealous in any way. I went on a girlfriends trip, we squashed through muddy pastures, talked with other interesting guests, tasted truly nourishing treats (ginger honey lemonade, leeks in cream!) and cozied up in our very comfortable beds. I was totally refreshed and rejuvenated by my time at Thyme in the Country! Thank you, Koch family! “
Loved it and will return – with friends and without!
I loved the sound of this place on their website, and it did not disappoint one bit! Mary and husband Bill are warm & gracious and run a lovely, comfortable B&B that’s close to all that the Hudson area offers; but you don’t really need to leave their property to enjoy yourself and feel a good dose of healthful, country living. For me, the salt-filtered pool was most inviting, and during my three days, when I swam, I had it to myself. Breakfasts are imaginative and organic. The farm animals are fun to be around and amusing to watch. I stayed in the Rose Room and reveled in its homey elegance. The house is filled with antiques and eco-friendly features. Homemade pies were out for evening snacks on Friday. I WILL be back!

A very special place
Over the years I’ve stayed at countless Bed and Breakfasts all over the world. This one is great, and here’s why: These folks have integrity, and it shows up in every aspect of the experience. The B&B is in a charming country farmhouse made cozy and colorful with carefully selected antiques. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful with lush flowers and veggie gardens and a very refreshing pool. Breakfast was outstanding, made with organic, local ingredients and prepared with real care. By the time breakfast was over, my daughter and I felt like we were part of a wonderful family. This place is a real find – peaceful, quiet, charming, beautiful, fun and memorable. I’m hoping to go back again soon!

A kid’s perspective
I am 7 years old and my stay at Mary’s place was so fun that my mom said I could write this review. I think you should go to! When I was there the chickens got out and me and my friend had to chase them back in. They have 2 dogs. And a 7 week old bull & a 6 day old calf. Mary gives you sweets in the afternoon.
